Responsibilities
- Own a platform domain end to end, including architecture, roadmap, reliability, security posture, and cost.
- Lead and document design and trade-off decisions involving performance, scalability, cost, security, and reliability.
- Build multi-tenant infrastructure that client engagements can self-serve onto.
- Advance agent-native engineering through safe execution environments, credential and secret handling, internal tooling, MCP servers, and agent evaluation.
- Set standards for coding-agent usage, review practices, context engineering, and automation.
- Partner with client-facing engineering teams to translate infrastructure requirements into reusable platform capabilities.
- Mentor engineers, review designs, and raise the team’s technical bar.
- Own on-call and post-incident review practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and operating production Kubernetes at multi-team scale on GCP, Azure, or AWS.
- Deep experience with Terraform, Helm, and GitOps delivery, including understanding of failure modes from poor implementations.
- Strong knowledge of identity and SSO, workload identity, secrets management, network policy, and threat modeling.
- Strong Python programming skills for building tooling rather than only configuration.
- Exceptional practical command of agentic coding tools, including experience building harnesses, guardrails, and internal tooling.
- First-principles understanding of platform engineering practices and how agentic engineering changes them.
- Excellent written communication for explaining ambiguous technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A track record of shipping infrastructure that other engineers depend on and challenging established approaches when appropriate.
- Demonstrated capability is weighted more heavily than years of experience or formal qualifications.
