Responsibilities
- Research, prototype, and develop solutions that improve Qualys' technology platform.
- Design and implement distributed, scalable, high-performance microservice-based applications.
- Develop microservices using the Spring Boot framework.
- Connect microservices to relational and NoSQL databases and understand streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Produce high-quality software using scalable architecture and design principles.
- Work within the full Software Development Life Cycle and apply continuous delivery practices.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve software bugs.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Windsurf and GitHub Copilot for coding, debugging, code review, rapid prototyping, and code generation.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience in Java back-end development.
- Strong programming and software design skills with Spring Boot experience.
- Understanding of relational databases such as Oracle and NoSQL databases, preferably Cassandra.
- Professional experience with Elasticsearch indexing technology and caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and application design.
- Experience with continuous delivery principles and related tools including Kubernetes, AKS, and Docker.
- Familiarity with AI-powered coding assistants such as Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science is desired.
- Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools to measurably reduce development cycle time is desired.
