Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design for CloudZero's next-generation data platform.
- Document architectural decisions and migration strategies rigorously.
- Design and deliver a real-time data pipeline from ingestion to serving.
- Establish SLOs for throughput, latency, and correctness.
- Redesign the dimensional cost model for high-cardinality attribution.
- Drive performance optimization across the query engine layer.
- Evolve the cost attribution engine to support real-time data.
- Shape the data engineering roadmap in collaboration with other teams.
- Mentor senior engineers and elevate the engineering team's craft.
Requirements
- 10+ years in data engineering with a focus on architecture.
- Experience building large-scale data platforms handling millions of events.
- Deep knowledge of streaming systems like Kafka or Spark Streaming.
- Strong fluency with modern open table formats such as Apache Iceberg.
- Expertise in dimensional data modeling and materialization strategies.
- Hands-on experience with distributed query engines like Trino or Presto.
- Proven ability to drive multi-team technical initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying complex tradeoffs.
