Base Salary
$99k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain AI agents and supporting applications using Agent Foundry and AWS.
- Connect agents to enterprise data and tools and implement retrieval, tool calling, context management, and workflow orchestration.
- Develop production-grade Python back-end applications, APIs, and data services.
- Evaluate AI/ML application performance using test datasets, metrics, error analysis, and user feedback, then implement improvements.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, automated testing, troubleshooting, and feature delivery.
- Implement secure controls including least-privilege access, secrets management, input and output validation, traceable outputs, and human oversight.
- Translate defense mission use cases into implemented and tested software and communicate designs, results, and limitations to engineering and domain teams.
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, data and cloud engineers, solutions architects, platform developers, and subject matter experts.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience developing production-grade Python software, including back-end applications, APIs, or data services.
- At least 2 years of experience developing, integrating, or deploying AI/ML-enabled applications using LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, or agentic workflows.
- Experience with Git-based version control, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Experience evaluating AI/ML applications with test datasets, performance metrics, error analysis, or documented user feedback.
- Knowledge of LLM and agent development patterns, including tool or function calling, context management, retrieval, workflow orchestration, and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Knowledge of AWS fundamentals, secure development, IAM, compute, storage, networking, and managed AI/ML services.
- Ability to translate mission use cases into tested software features and communicate technical designs and limitations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or engineering plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree in one of those fields plus 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Preferred experience includes AWS AI services, agent orchestration, knowledge retrieval, production data pipelines, DevOps or MLOps, computer vision, multimodal or geospatial systems, AWS GovCloud or regulated environments, and security controls for models and agentic applications.
- Preferred qualifications include relevant AWS certifications and CompTIA Security+ certification.
