Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, deployment, and adoption of Kong API Gateway solutions for enterprise customers.
- Facilitate technical workshops and provide architecture guidance across API, integration, security, and platform domains.
- Perform hands-on engineering, configuration, and troubleshooting for Kong platform implementations.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and operations teams on project outcomes.
- Define and promote best practices, governance standards, security controls, and reusable automation frameworks.
- Create technical documentation, share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Be an Australian Citizen with an active AGSVA Baseline clearance or higher.
- Have 8+ years of experience delivering enterprise integration platforms and services.
- Have 5+ years of hands-on experience with API Gateway or API Management solutions, preferably Kong.
- Demonstrate strong hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway, API integrations, and Kong Konnect.
- Have experience in large-scale, regulated enterprise environments.
- Understand APIs, microservices, and API-led integration architectures.
- Have experience with Kubernetes, containers, Terraform, decK, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Have knowledge of DevOps, networking, and AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud platforms.
- Have experience implementing OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and mTLS API security controls.
- Be proficient with Linux and cloud-native technologies.
- Have experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
- Demonstrate communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and technical and executive engagement skills.
