Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and build of IT systems with AI features aligned to business value.
- Set technical standards and engineering best practices.
- Guide and mentor engineers and strengthen technical culture.
- Solve complex technical problems affecting multiple systems.
- Partner with senior management on technology decisions and business goals.
- Review system designs for security, reliability, and scalability.
- Research and introduce capabilities that improve services and efficiency.
- Ensure technical work and AI tools follow GCIO standards and banking regulations.
- Review code, test AI tools, and lead by example.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a senior, lead, or principal software engineer, including experience building AI systems.
- Strong background building large-scale, secure systems, ideally in the financial sector.
- Deep knowledge of modern software development, cloud computing, and system design.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and guide engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for complex, system-wide challenges.
- Ability to explain technical and AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments with strict security requirements.
- Hands-on comfort reviewing code and testing AI tools.
