
Senior Software Engineer -Localization (GLP Team), Bangalore
Warner Bros. DiscoveryResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend and frontend services for the Global Localization Platform.
- Own major technical components and contribute to architecture, performance, scalability, and reliability decisions.
- Deliver features from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using Node.js, Java, React, and TypeScript.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure configurations, and AWS cloud deployments.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues using logs, metrics, traces, and system behavior analysis.
- Improve observability and resilience through dashboards, alerting, fault-tolerance patterns, and long-term system improvements.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, documentation, and cross-functional delivery with product managers and localization experts.
- Mentor junior and less experienced engineers and contribute to team process and engineering-quality improvements.
Requirements
- 5–9 years of professional software engineering experience delivering high-scale backend and frontend systems in production.
- Advanced backend development experience with Node.js and frontend development experience with TypeScript.
- Mandatory experience with localization workflows.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and EventBridge.
- Strong understanding of microservice architecture, asynchronous systems, REST, gRPC, and event-driven communication.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Practical knowledge of PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience setting up dashboards, defining alerts, and analyzing operational data with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Kibana, and Grafana.
- Familiarity with localization or internationalization challenges such as ICU format, string management, translation workflows, and Unicode handling is preferred.
- Ability to design modular solutions, communicate technical decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate across disciplines.
- Experience working in agile, product-driven environments and contributing to planning and prioritization.
