Responsibilities
- Write code and lead architecture for complex, scalable backend systems.
- Act as a technical point of contact for stakeholders and partner with Engineering and Product leadership on roadmaps and trade-offs.
- Lead architectural direction, technical standards, code quality, readability, and scalability across the team.
- Mobilize engineers around high-impact problems and resolve cross-team technical dependencies.
- Mentor, sponsor, and develop senior engineers through technical leadership, code, and design reviews.
- Champion AI-assisted development practices and tools while evaluating their limitations and trade-offs.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience operating at staff or principal level.
- Deep backend engineering expertise and a track record of designing and building distributed systems at scale.
- Strong technical judgment, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Java is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of core account infrastructure and geolocation flows.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.
- A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience of 10+ years.
