Base Salary

$115k - $192k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain secure, highly available AWS environments optimized for reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop reusable AWS infrastructure patterns, Infrastructure as Code modules, templates, and deployment pipelines.
  • Build and support Kubernetes and container workloads on AWS, including EKS deployments, Helm releases, ingress, autoscaling, and observability integrations.
  • Implement security controls and operational guardrails covering IAM, encryption, secrets management, network segmentation, and compliance practices.
  • Improve cloud operations through monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, runbooks, automated remediation, and reliability improvements.
  • Review cloud designs against AWS Well-Architected principles, internal standards, and production readiness expectations.
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud, platform, networking, deployment, and performance issues across AWS environments.
  • Create playbooks, templates, workshops, and other enablement resources for AI-assisted engineering adoption.
  • Mentor engineers and communicate technical recommendations to engineering, product, security, operations, and leadership stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of engineering or IT experience, including 5+ years focused on AWS cloud engineering, automation, platform engineering, or cloud architecture.
  • Strong hands-on experience with EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, EKS, CloudWatch, and Route 53.
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor, including enabling other engineers to adopt them.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or similar tools.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills with Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
  • Experience with cloud delivery and infrastructure practices using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, Helm, service networking, and autoscaling.
  • Knowledge of AWS networking, cloud security, compliance, observability, SRE practices, data services, storage, backup, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with internal developer portals or self-service cloud development environments.
  • Preferred AWS Associate or Professional certification, Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification, or comparable certification.
  • Preferred experience with reusable Infrastructure as Code modules, golden paths, self-service provisioning, AWS Organizations, Control Tower, IAM Identity Center, or related governance capabilities.
  • Preferred experience with Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or Splunk.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost optimization, capacity planning, tagging strategies, FinOps, and infrastructure supporting data, analytics, AI, or machine learning workloads.
  • Experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, or related managed AI services is a plus.
