Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies for software functionality, performance, user experience, and quality standards.
- Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using the agreed automation framework.
- Perform API testing and automation, including RESTful, JSON, and XML-based testing.
- Conduct defect root-cause analysis and collaborate with developers to support resolution.
- Take ownership of assigned user stories from requirements understanding through scripting and execution within the sprint cycle.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, developers, and cross-functional teams on requirements, design discussions, and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare and oversee test cases, automated scripts, status reports, test completion reports, and required signoffs.
- Integrate automated test suites into deployment pipelines and contribute to CI/CD delivery.
- Participate in daily scrum meetings, provide progress updates, and raise impediments promptly.
- Mentor or guide QA automation team members and improve documentation of frameworks, utilities, and tools.
- Support risk management, governance, controls, policy development, and operational effectiveness for the work performed.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver and automated testing frameworks.
- Good working experience with Java or Python, Selenium, Cucumber BDD, and Gherkin.
- Experience implementing BDD frameworks using Cucumber.
- Hands-on experience with API testing and automation using REST Assured.
- Excellent SQL, Unix, and Linux skills.
- Working knowledge of Jenkins and experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience integrating automated test suites into deployment pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Maven or Gradle for dependency and build management.
- Proficiency with GitLab for source code management.
- Excellent knowledge of RESTful, JSON, and XML protocols.
- Ability to collaborate with BAs, POs, architects, developers, and other stakeholders throughout the sprint cycle.
- Banking or financial services domain experience is preferred.
- Exposure to cloud-based testing environments and modern automation practices is valued.
- Mentoring or leading QA automation teams is an added advantage.
