Responsibilities
- Lead complex technology initiatives with broad or companywide impact.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and review complex large-scale technology solutions.
- Build distributed data pipelines supporting streaming and batch workflows.
- Design and govern end-to-end analytics architectures from ingestion through visualization.
- Build and maintain Spring Boot microservices with well-defined APIs and service contracts.
- Deploy and operate data pipelines and microservices using Kubernetes.
- Define engineering standards, reference architectures, and companywide best practices.
- Monitor, alert on, and manage production incidents while improving reliability and operability.
- Lead projects and teams, mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and influence cross-team technical direction.
- Analyze large-scale datasets and translate analytical requirements into scalable system designs.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Experience building distributed data pipelines with Apache Beam, Flink, or Spark for streaming and batch workflows.
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch architecture, index design, query optimization, and analytics use cases.
- Expertise in distributed systems design, including scalability, fault tolerance, backpressure handling, and data consistency trade-offs.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience for deploying and operating data pipelines and microservices.
- Experience building and maintaining microservices with Spring Boot.
- Ability to define and enforce engineering standards, reference architectures, and best practices across teams.
- Strong focus on reliability, observability, and operability, including monitoring, alerting, and production incident management.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, design review leadership, and cross-team influence.
