Base Salary
$129k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate features and services within the cloud-native Data Platform.
- Break features into executable tasks, deliver iteratively, and communicate risks and trade-offs.
- Build automation, tooling, and platform services used by other engineering teams.
- Contribute to reliability, scalability, and operability through testing, instrumentation, runbooks, and on-call participation.
- Collaborate with staff and senior engineers on designs and platform standards.
- Support junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years with a master’s degree, a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience.
- Hands-on production software development experience, including deploying and operating workloads on Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major hyperscaler—AWS, Azure, or GCP—and its core compute and networking primitives.
- Good programming skills in Go or another systems language with willingness to work primarily in Go.
- Working knowledge of containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based development workflows.
- Experience integrating or critically evaluating AI in engineering work is required.
- Preferred qualifications include managed Kubernetes experience with EKS, AKS, or GKE; GitOps and Terraform familiarity; observability tooling exposure; DNS, TLS, and IAM fundamentals; and on-call experience.
