Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support scalable Java, Spring Boot, and microservices applications.
- Lead modernization initiatives by migrating business logic from database stored procedures to Java-based services.
- Develop cloud-native applications using AWS and OpenShift.
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using Kafka and related messaging technologies.
- Build and support REST and SOAP APIs for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Develop automated testing frameworks for APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Integrate automated testing and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Optimize application performance and database interactions across Oracle, DB2, and PostgreSQL.
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices, software quality, and technical excellence.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications with AWS and using OpenShift Container Platform.
- Strong experience with Oracle, DB2, or PostgreSQL databases and complex database-driven applications.
- Experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka, event-driven architectures, distributed systems, messaging patterns, and asynchronous processing.
- Experience designing automated testing frameworks and using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, REST Assured, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience in Agile delivery environments.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD, DevOps, build automation, Jenkins, CloudBees, Git, SonarQube, Maven, enterprise systems, cloud modernization, performance testing, load testing, resiliency testing, and API testing.
- Angular or React exposure and Java, AWS, or quality engineering certifications are preferred.
