Responsibilities
- Own solution architecture and modernization roadmaps for high-performance data pipelines and microservices.
- Define engineering standards for APIs, event-driven integration, data modeling, testing, CI/CD, and operational readiness.
- Architect, design, and build Java and Spring Boot services, cloud data platforms, containerized applications, and event-driven solutions.
- Lead data processing and platform engineering using cloud storage, serverless technologies, Apache Spark, Apache Beam, and related technologies.
- Drive engineering delivery on Google Cloud Platform while ensuring data quality, integrity, lineage, and security.
- Own production reliability through monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, performance tuning, incident resolution, resilience improvements, and cost optimization.
- Use AI tooling and large language models to support engineering tasks and build automation for scripting and testing.
- Coach and mentor engineers, collaborate through code reviews and debugging, and manage stakeholder communication, risks, dependencies, and delivery impediments.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Google Kubernetes Engine, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, and deployment pipelines.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver/Cloud Monitoring, and distributed tracing.
- Knowledge of secrets management, IAM, network segmentation, and secure software development practices.
- Data engineering experience with Apache Spark and proficiency in Python or Spark SQL.
- Advanced SQL, data modeling, cloud storage, Parquet, and Iceberg experience.
- Experience with DocumentDB and SBT.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing containerized applications with auto-scaling and load balancing.
- Experience developing end-to-end DevOps pipelines for automated testing, regression testing, and deployments.
- Required experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Hands-on AI tooling experience, preferably including Model Context Protocol integration; familiarity with Claude Code, SpecKit, specification-driven development, and AI/LLM technologies is desirable.
- Exposure to React and TypeScript is helpful but not essential.
- Strong cloud technology experience and a technical background, plus financial-services domain knowledge covering financial accounting, credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and regulatory reporting.
