Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Develop customer identity journeys including registration, sign-in, password reset, account recovery, multi-factor authentication, and social login.
  • Integrate services with Azure AD B2C, Microsoft Entra External ID, and other customer identity platforms.
  • Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and token-based security.
  • Build APIs and integrations for customer profiles, consent, newsletters, and related customer capabilities.
  • Design services for scalability, reliability, performance, maintainability, and secure personal-data handling.
  • Improve logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
  • Own services through automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement long-term improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, review code, mentor colleagues, and communicate technical risks and trade-offs.
  • Contribute to the evolution and migration of the CIAM landscape, including adoption of platforms such as Strivacity.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of relevant software engineering experience designing, developing, testing, and operating backend applications or services.
  • Strong recent hands-on experience with Java 17+ and core Java concepts including object-oriented design, collections, exception handling, concurrency, and clean code.
  • Practical experience building production-grade REST APIs and microservices with Spring Boot and the wider Spring ecosystem.
  • Meaningful hands-on customer identity and access management experience covering authentication, authorization, access control, identity journeys, customer profiles, consent, and personal-data protection.
  • Experience with Azure AD B2C, Microsoft Entra External ID, or a comparable CIAM platform, including user flows or policies, MFA, social identity providers, tokens, and backend integration.
  • Good understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and token lifecycle management.
  • Strong backend experience with API design, microservices, secure coding, databases, system integrations, performance, reliability, and production support.
  • Experience with cloud-native development, Docker, Kubernetes, and automated build, test, and deployment pipelines; Azure experience is preferred.
  • Practical experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or Cosmos DB.
  • Experience with unit, integration, contract, security, and performance testing, as well as logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and production alerting.
  • Preferred experience with event-driven systems, Azure Service Bus or similar messaging technologies, CIAM migrations, Strivacity, customer consent or newsletter capabilities, and high-traffic digital platforms.
  • Ability to take ownership, collaborate globally, explain technical choices clearly, solve problems pragmatically, mentor colleagues, and adapt to evolving identity technologies.
