Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of a scalable Internal Developer Platform enabling self-service infrastructure and developer productivity.
- Architect, operate, and govern production-grade Kubernetes platforms for microservices, data workloads, and AI/ML systems.
- Implement GitOps deployment workflows with Argo CD, event-driven autoscaling with KEDA, developer portals with Backstage, and policy-as-code with Kyverno.
- Build reusable platform components, templates, golden paths, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code capabilities for modern and legacy applications.
- Establish end-to-end monitoring, logging, tracing, observability, and reliability practices using Datadog.
- Enable AI/ML experimentation, model training, and inference workloads in collaboration with data scientists and ML engineers.
- Define platform roadmaps, standards, service offerings, productivity metrics, and adoption improvements using a platform-as-a-product approach.
- Provide documentation, training, onboarding, technical guidance, architectural direction, and hands-on support to engineering teams.
- Mentor platform engineers and collaborate with application engineering, data engineering, cloud operations, and security teams.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience as a software developer followed by experience in platform engineering.
- Proven experience designing and operating Kubernetes-based platforms in production.
- Experience building or contributing to Internal Developer Platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Argo CD, KEDA, Backstage, and Kyverno.
- Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines for modern and legacy applications.
- Deep experience implementing observability solutions with Datadog.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and container platforms.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience mentoring platform engineering teams.
- Preferred qualifications include AI/ML or data platform experience, multi-cluster Kubernetes experience, service mesh experience with technologies such as Istio or Kong, large-scale self-service engineering platform experience, and contributions to open-source cloud-native or Kubernetes projects.
