Responsibilities
- Partner with Product, Business Analysts, UX, and architects to define solution architecture, technical specifications, delivery plans, milestones, and quality standards.
- Build Java and Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs with API versioning, backward compatibility, clean architecture, and secure-by-default patterns.
- Develop Angular frontend components with state management, modular design, performance optimization, accessibility, and consistent user experience patterns.
- Implement operational readiness through logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Build RAG pipelines, including chunking, embeddings, retrieval orchestration, indexing, and relevance tuning.
- Develop AI assistants and agent-based workflows with tool or function calling, multi-step reasoning flows, memory patterns, and user feedback loops.
- Create and maintain prompts and system instructions using structured outputs, few-shot prompting, guardrails, and robust error handling.
- Establish AI evaluation practices with success metrics, evaluation datasets, regression tests, and production quality-drift monitoring.
- Apply responsible AI practices covering data privacy, PII handling, prompt-injection mitigation, content safety, and secure model endpoint integration.
- Optimize AI feature latency and cost through batching, streaming responses, fallback strategies, and graceful degradation.
- Communicate technical trade-offs, contribute to the technical roadmap, and improve shared AI services, libraries, developer experience, observability, and security posture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product development and full-stack engineering.
- Expertise in Java 11/17 and Spring Boot, including REST APIs and microservices.
- Strong experience with Angular 18+ and NodeJS, including micro-frontends.
- Experience with scalable system design, event-driven and distributed systems, software design patterns, and non-functional architecture.
- Experience delivering products end to end across UI, APIs, data, production support, and continuous integration environments.
- Experience with RAG pipelines, embeddings, prompt engineering, AI assistants, agent workflows, tool calling, and AI evaluation.
- Experience with production readiness, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and debugging distributed systems using logs, tracing, and root-cause analysis.
- Preferred experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, and Split.io.
- Preferred knowledge of responsible AI, prompt-injection defense, PII masking, policy enforcement, A/B testing, feature flags, and shared AI platform components.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, self-motivation, business focus, learning orientation, quality focus, and attention to detail.
