Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Guidewire Cloud Platform (Application)

- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve application and distributed-systems problems.
- Develop automated runbooks and proactive measures to reduce toil and customer impact.
- Monitor, maintain, and improve application reliability, performance, scalability, and availability.
- Design and implement SLI, SLO, error-budget, monitoring, dashboard, and synthetic-transaction practices.
- Build and operate scalable AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure using Terraform and cloud-native approaches.
- Design and engineer CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure configuration, and automation at scale.
- Document and analyze incidents, improve operational processes, and participate in mandatory on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Senior SRE or comparable experience improving system reliability.
- Strong software engineering background with Python, Go, or Java and experience writing clean, testable, maintainable code.
- Experience designing and deploying SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, application performance monitoring, and telemetry solutions.
- Experience triaging and debugging distributed systems on cloud infrastructure.
- Experience engineering CI/CD pipelines within Kubernetes and legacy ecosystems.
- Experience designing Datadog monitors, dashboards, and synthetic transactions.
- Experience building, deploying, and operating scalable infrastructure in AWS and Kubernetes using Terraform.
- Experience managing infrastructure configuration at scale with approaches or tools such as GitOps, Puppet, or Ansible.
- Understanding of cloud networking, security, and vulnerability management, including programmatic remediation of infrastructure issues.
- Preferred: multiple SRE or AWS certifications.
- Preferred: distributed-systems architecture experience, including microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Preferred: SQL, database administration, data pipelines, performance tuning, and schema design experience.
- Preferred: experience with TeamCity, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Hadoop, Apache Spark, or Amazon Redshift.
- Willingness and ability to participate in mandatory after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call rotations.
