Base Salary
$120k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Determine feature requirements with Microsoft Advertising stakeholders and create system designs that satisfy security, compliance, testing, and quality expectations.
- Implement efficient, extensible, reliable, diagnosable, and maintainable product features and review code for quality, accuracy, and scale.
- Operate live services through rotational on-call support, monitor for degradation or downtime, respond within SLA timeframes, and escalate issues as needed.
- Improve engineering tools and production and deployment automation that support development, debugging, and maintenance.
- Analyze distributed-system performance and capacity bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve latency and online-serving capacity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Preferred: Master’s degree and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience, with equivalent experience accepted where stated.
- Preferred: experience with Azure, machine learning, online system design, implementation, and qualification.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience with distributed systems and big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Kafka, Flink, and Scala.
