Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to shape long-term billing architecture.
- Design the components of a modern billing platform.
- Architect a scalable system for accurate product usage metering.
- Build an entitlement layer for programmable feature access.
- Ensure coherent quote-to-cash flows across various systems.
- Maintain operational trustworthiness of billing systems.
- Review architecture and code for correctness and security.
- Troubleshoot complex billing issues and discrepancies.
- Lead cross-team initiatives to improve billing systems.
- Mentor engineers on domain modeling and distributed systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Deep experience with billing, payments, or quote-to-cash systems.
- Strong experience designing APIs and event-driven systems.
- Understanding of modern billing models and pricing strategies.
- Experience with systems like Salesforce, CPQ, and NetSuite.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with relational databases and transactional workflows.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and asynchronous processing.
- Ability to write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Strong product and systems mindset.
