Base Salary
$247k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, document, and evolve shared design-system components, tokens, and patterns.
- Translate design specifications into production-quality interactive components with precise visual and motion details.
- Partner with product designers through critiques, feedback, edge-case analysis, and technical guidance.
- Review designer pull requests affecting shared UI surfaces and design-system contributions from feature engineers.
- Advance product accessibility through direct contributions and team support.
- Provide flexible, consistent components that unblock product squads without requiring forks.
- Maintain design-system documentation so engineers and designers can self-serve.
- Mentor designers developing hybrid design and engineering practices.
- Contribute to improved workflows and may develop internal tools and resources for design and prototyping.
Requirements
- 8+ years building products with experience spanning both design and engineering.
- Portfolio or other application materials demonstrating technical skill and design taste.
- Experience building or maintaining a production-scale product design system, including tokens, component APIs, versioning, migration paths, and documentation.
- High-polish front-end skills including motion.
- Fluency in Figma.
- Clear communication across media and the ability to help design-system consumers use the system effectively.
- Experience building accessible, production-quality components with modern React, including hooks and composition patterns.
- Ability to design strongly typed component APIs.
- Proficiency with CSS Modules and CSS custom properties using semantic tokens.
- Accessibility knowledge covering keyboard navigation, focus management, screen-reader behavior, and ARIA labels.
