Base Salary
$208k - $274k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for real-time systems serving Trust Index scores and fraud attributes.
- Lead ambiguous, multi-quarter initiatives while contributing hands-on to architecture, production code, data investigation, and debugging.
- Identify fraud-detection opportunities, prototype risky assumptions, and turn validated ideas into reliable production systems.
- Learn customer fraud challenges and build product solutions, including API changes, new integration modes, and product modules.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Machine Learning, Product, and fraud research teams to develop new fraud signals and capabilities.
- Use data tools and systems such as Jupyter notebooks, Spark jobs, and Tecton to independently deliver business impact.
- Lead by example in AI-assisted engineering, automation, linters, and development across unfamiliar languages, systems, and repositories.
- Raise the technical bar through mentorship, design reviews, and hands-on technical leadership.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of experience building and operating backend or distributed systems at scale.
- Must be comfortable working hands-on directly in the codebase and spending substantial time designing and building production systems.
- Strong product judgment, including translating ambiguous customer problems into deliverables and balancing rapid validation with durable architecture.
- Preferred experience building data and/or API products.
- Preferred prior experience in the fraud domain.
- Preferred prior experience or interest in building agentic systems.
- Strong opinions, conviction, and good product taste are nice-to-have qualifications.
