Responsibilities
- Own the cost and vendor data platform, designing and maintaining data pipelines and models.
- Translate raw cost and usage signals into insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Implement cost optimizations directly by adjusting services and configurations.
- Develop self-service FinOps tools like dashboards and alerts for service owners.
- Establish cost-efficient architecture standards and embed them into processes.
- Collaborate with Finance on forecasting and reconciling spend.
- Lead cross-functional cost optimization initiatives from definition to execution.
- Conduct reviews and training to enhance understanding of cost data across teams.
- Define KPIs and measure the impact of cost programs on business performance.
- Stay updated on cloud pricing and FinOps best practices to guide architecture and contracts.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in FinOps, SRE, Platform, or Infrastructure engineering.
- Proficient in coding (Python, TypeScript) and financial concepts.
- Experience with cost and usage data modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to implement cost optimizations personally.
- Strong ownership and autonomy in managing cross-functional problems.
- Ability to balance program management with technical depth.
- Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Strong data and analytics skills, comfortable with SQL.
- Focus on reliability and developer experience in cost optimization.
- Curiosity and quick learning ability in new domains.
