Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and delivery of complex backend platform features across multiple microservices.
- Define technical standards and best practices for backend microservices development.
- Own the architectural design of AI-augmented data pipelines.
- Evaluate and recommend agentic AI frameworks and tooling for platform components.
- Write and present comprehensive design documents and technical proposals.
- Drive improvements to Aviatrix’s product and security posture.
- Design and implement data pipelines that incorporate AI/ML model inference.
- Architect agentic AI workflows for platform automation.
- Integrate large language models into backend services and pipeline stages.
- Build robust prompt engineering and context management layers.
- Establish guardrails and monitoring strategies for AI components.
- Collaborate with data and ML teams on feature stores and model lifecycle management.
- Design and implement high-performance microservices in Golang.
- Drive the design of event-driven architectures using AWS data pipeline services.
- Enforce strong security and networking practices.
- Lead platform-wide reliability initiatives.
- Conduct rigorous design and code reviews.
- Serve as a technical anchor for the team through mentorship and guidance.
- Collaborate with product management to align technical roadmap with business priorities.
- Provide expert guidance during escalations and critical production incidents.
- Contribute to recruiting and interviewing for backend and AI engineering roles.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience designing and operating SaaS or PaaS products at scale.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Golang and experience building production-grade gRPC-based microservices.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience integrating large language models into production systems.
- Practical knowledge of agentic AI concepts and frameworks.
- Proven experience designing large-scale data pipelines for real-time and batch workloads.
- Deep experience with AWS as a primary cloud platform.
