Base Salary

$146k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and scale backend services and integrations for payment, billing, identity, partner integration, and other product capabilities.
  • Build robust, fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies and maintain data pipelines.
  • Lead technical scoping, API design, implementation, and production rollouts with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and technical and non-technical stakeholders to align scope and delivery.
  • Contribute to small, frequent releases and elevate engineering standards through best practices and mentoring.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience with Java.
  • Experience working on globally distributed teams with a high degree of ownership.
  • Experience aligning scope and delivery expectations with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience building robust, fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Java frameworks and tools including Spring, Gradle, JUnit, and JVM memory, performance, and garbage-collection tuning.
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures, REST APIs, message queues, and scalable architectures.
  • Experience with AWS services including EKS, Aurora RDS, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB, along with containerization tools.
  • Preferred: experience with CI/CD systems, GitHub Actions, Git, automation, observability and monitoring tools such as DataDog, big data platforms such as Snowflake, Infrastructure as Code with CDK and Terraform, mentoring junior engineers, and cross-functional communication.
