Responsibilities
- Design and deliver features across 8+ Spring Boot microservices using hexagonal architecture and CQRS patterns.
- Build and maintain domain-driven services for model inventory, validation lifecycle, workflow orchestration, monitoring, and approvals.
- Implement and evolve BPMN/DMN workflows with Flowable for complex approval and validation processes.
- Own inter-service communication through OpenFeign clients and maintain resilient API contracts.
- Write database migrations with Liquibase and optimize PostgreSQL queries in a database-per-service topology.
- Collaborate with business analysts, model validators, and risk stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into software.
- Contribute to service extraction, legacy migration, platform evolution, and architectural improvements.
- Maintain code quality through automated testing, SonarQube, and peer review.
- Support cloud deployments on GCP and GKE, including Kubernetes configurations, health checks, and Helm-based release management.
Requirements
- 15+ years of backend development experience in Java, ideally using Java 21 or Java 17+.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Cloud.
- Solid understanding of microservice decomposition, API design, and inter-service communication patterns.
- Hands-on PostgreSQL experience including schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
- Familiarity with CQRS or comparable read/write separation patterns.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Working experience with GCP and GKE, including Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Kubernetes deployments, namespaces, health checks, and Helm charts.
- Proficiency with Git, branching strategies, code reviews, and CI/CD build, test, and deployment automation.
- Experience with automated testing using REST Assured, Playwright, or similar frameworks across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Highly desirable experience with Flowable, Camunda, or similar BPMN/DMN workflow engines.
- Familiarity with hexagonal architecture, Feign or declarative HTTP clients, and Liquibase or Flyway.
- Experience with event-driven architecture using Pub/Sub or Kafka and Maven multi-module builds.
- Background in financial services, risk management, regulatory technology, model risk management, or legacy platform modernization is beneficial.
