Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-powered tools and workflow automation solutions.
- Explore and deploy LLMs, intelligent engineering assistants, and other emerging AI technologies.
- Develop solutions that reduce manual effort and accelerate software development processes.
- Develop and maintain CNC post processors within the GibbsCAM environment.
- Translate CAM toolpaths into machine-ready NC programs.
- Support machine validation, testing, and controller-specific implementations.
- Build and maintain databases and knowledge repositories for engineering teams.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams and share best practices across Sandvik business units.
- Champion AI adoption and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experience with CNC machining, CAM software, or CNC post-processor development.
- Understanding of G-code, NC programming, CNC controllers, or machine kinematics.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, machine manuals, and controller specifications.
- Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases.
- Strong software development and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: knowledge of AI-assisted software development and intelligent automation.
- Preferred: experience with LLMs, AI productivity tools, or prompt engineering.
- Preferred: familiarity with software testing, validation, and automation frameworks.
- Preferred: experience with manufacturing software solutions and engineering workflows.
