Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend systems with scalable data persistence layers.
- Partner with service teams to enhance database design and query performance.
- Contribute to automation of infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform.
- Improve developer experience by creating self-service tooling for databases.
- Work on observability and performance insights for production datastores.
- Contribute to architectural decisions for multi-regional data persistence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in production backend systems.
- Strong experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience with NoSQL datastores such as DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Exposure to data pipelines and event-driven architectures.
- Experience operating services in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience running or tuning PostgreSQL or Aurora in production.
- Experience with multi-region architectures and observability tooling.
