Responsibilities
- Develop Java/J2EE and Angular applications that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into software designs, implementations, components, and application tasks.
- Construct unit tests, participate in functional testing, and apply testing frameworks including JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma, Selenium, and Cucumber.
- Conduct detailed code reviews and follow software design, coding, documentation, and quality standards.
- Design scalable, performant, extensible, and reusable application frameworks.
- Deploy and support applications in efficient hosting environments, including containerized and cloud environments.
- Tune application performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide production support.
- Work with business analysts, architects, infrastructure teams, subject matter experts, product managers, project managers, and end users.
- Research technical solutions consistent with DTCC standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and apply appropriate software development methodologies.
- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
- Align risk and control processes with day-to-day responsibilities and escalate issues appropriately.
- Help lead client expectations and resolve issues on time.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of related experience, including active development expertise with Java/J2EE applications.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Strong Angular and web-based UI development skills.
- Experience with Hibernate, Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, REST APIs, PL/SQL, NodeJS, and NPM.
- Experience with Java Core and Java EE, Spring Cloud, JMS, Tomcat, Servlet/JSP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, SOAP, and UI frameworks such as jQuery and React.
- Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems, layered SOA/MVC architecture, legacy-system integration, and on-premises and cloud environments.
- Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Maven, Ant, Jenkins, Jira, Sonar, and CI/CD processes.
- Strong Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL skills, including performance tuning.
- Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes/Docker container platforms; AWS experience is a plus.
- Experience with integration patterns and messaging technologies including MQ, Solace, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
- Strong software testing focus using JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma, Selenium, and Cucumber.
- Experience supporting high-volume transactional applications in financial services is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, flexibility, creative thinking, continuous-improvement, and leadership skills.
