Senior Software Engineer - Release & Platform Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions workflows for build, test, and deployment automation.
  • Manage Docker base images, OCI artifacts, AMI and machine-image pipelines, including versioning, deprecation, and scanning.
  • Provision and manage AWS and Azure cloud resources using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Spacelift.
  • Own semantic versioning, package management, GitVersion, SemVer, and NuGet feed practices.
  • Operate release governance processes including RFC/CAB change management, deployment gating, staged promotion, and rollback procedures.
  • Participate in the Release Engineering support rotation and resolve developer requests and incidents.
  • Build observability and monitoring for pipelines and deployments using Grafana, Power BI, Kibana, and related tools.
  • Maintain security and compliance controls, including SOC 2, FedRAMP, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Mentor engineers, support teams adopting release best practices, and represent the Release Engineering roadmap to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience designing, debugging, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps Pipelines and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience developing and managing the full lifecycle of OCI artifacts.
  • Knowledge of AWS services including ECR, IAM/OIDC, EC2, and RDS, and Azure services including ACR, Azure Machines and DBs, and Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and CloudFormation for infrastructure provisioning, plus Packer and EC2 Image Builder for image creation.
  • Strong ownership, urgency, customer focus, and reliability when supporting engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of Git workflows, branching strategies, tagging, semantic versioning, GitVersion, SemVer, and NuGet or npm feeds is beneficial.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Power BI, or Kibana is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of vulnerability scanning, security practices, SOC 2, and FedRAMP is beneficial.
  • Experience with RFC/CAB processes, ring-based promotion models, Flux-based GitOps repositories, Helm, and Kubernetes is beneficial.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or representing a team roadmap to stakeholders is beneficial.
