Responsibilities
- Embed with power engineers and go-to-market teams to understand workflows, constraints, and underlying customer needs.
- Dogfood, test, and evaluate FDE and AI tooling for usefulness, correctness, reliability, and fit with critical-infrastructure work.
- Translate field evidence into requirements, priorities, and acceptance criteria while partnering closely with Product and Engineering.
- Investigate data, write Python and SQL, build prototypes and integrations, debug workflows, and perform high-priority customer work.
- Lead U.S. team rollout, onboarding, training, adoption measurement, and intervention when teams revert to lower-leverage workflows.
- Define usage standards, AI-assisted-work quality bars, human-review requirements, and processes for capturing lessons and failure modes.
- Turn recurring field needs into reusable workflows, product capabilities, playbooks, and an evidence-based FDE operating model.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping maintainable software within a product-engineering organization.
- Meaningful experience with power systems, utilities, grid technology, or adjacent critical infrastructure is strongly preferred.
- Fluency in Python, SQL, APIs, data pipelines, cloud systems, and modern developer tooling.
- Experience with modern data and AI workflows, including platforms such as Databricks and AI-native or agentic tooling, is valuable.
- Strong discovery, product judgment, communication, adoption leadership, and cross-functional ownership skills.
- Ability to work credibly with engineers, utility leaders, executives, customers, and enterprise stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel regularly and spend significant time with customers and the U.S. team.
- Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, customer-embedded product engineer, or technical lead is helpful but not required.
Benefits
- Opportunity to work directly with founders and leaders across Product, Engineering, and go-to-market.
- Broad ownership from day one in a founding role shaping Gridsight’s FDE model and AI-native ways of working.
- Regular travel and meaningful time with customers and the U.S. team are expected.
