Base Salary
$180k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, scale, and maintain internal platforms and APIs that integrate LLMs into developer workflows.
- Build autonomous agents, custom RAG systems, and intelligent context-delivery systems for AI-assisted development.
- Establish engineering best practices, evaluation frameworks, code-safety guardrails, and model latency and token-cost optimization strategies.
- Partner with product engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to identify friction and ensure AI tooling is scalable, compliant, and secure.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across the local-to-production software lifecycle.
- Monitor system health, diagnose integration and networking issues, and mitigate model drift or downtime in AI infrastructure.
Requirements
- 8+ years of systems expertise and experience delivering production-grade distributed software across complex codebases.
- Proven production AI experience, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG architectures, and multi-agent workflow orchestration.
- Strong understanding of developer experience and productivity, including how to make internal tools fast, frictionless, and empowering.
- Ability to address data privacy, security, cost management, and systemic reliability when deploying AI solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills, including translating AI capabilities into infrastructure strategies and mentoring junior engineers.
- Ability to collaborate across team boundaries and align cross-functional stakeholders.
