Responsibilities
- Architect, provision, and maintain modular AWS infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CDK across multiple environments.
- Design and maintain GitHub Actions or GitLab CI pipelines integrated with GitOps engines such as Argo CD for progressive and zero-downtime deployments.
- Manage containerized production workloads on Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, or Amazon ECS, including image builds and cluster scaling.
- Implement observability, logging, metrics, tracing, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and actionable alerting using tools such as OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Splunk, or AWS CloudWatch.
- Integrate vulnerability scanning, identity and access controls, RBAC, and secrets management into delivery and infrastructure workflows.
- Develop Python or Go automation tools for backups, disaster recovery validation, and eliminating manual toil.
- Partner with engineering teams on cloud consumption monitoring, resource optimization, and automated scaling policies.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-grade systems on AWS.
- Deep operational experience with Terraform or AWS CDK, including state management and module design.
- Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience, including Amazon EKS or AWS ECS and Helm templating.
- Extensive experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, linting, security scanning, and artifact management.
- Proficiency in Python with AWS SDK/boto3 or Go, plus Linux shell scripting with Bash.
- Proven experience with logging, metrics, tracing, telemetry platforms, and structured on-call incident response.
- Experience with GitOps workflows using Argo CD or Flux is preferred.
- Familiarity with Open Policy Agent/Gatekeeper, Kyverno, or Checkov is preferred.
- Understanding of MLOps infrastructure for workloads using Kubeflow or AWS SageMaker is preferred.
- Practical experience operating OpenSearch or Elasticsearch clusters at scale is preferred.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, or another cloud certification is preferred.
