Base Salary
$200k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and ship custom AI-powered internal platforms for People Operations, Customer Support, Sales, Recruiting, Marketing, Finance, Executive Operations, and other departments.
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into technical specifications, system architectures, and shipped software products.
- Own platform development end to end across front-end interfaces, back-end services, data models, third-party integrations, and AI model orchestration.
- Build multi-stage LLM pipelines using prompt engineering, tool-call architectures, structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows.
- Evaluate frontier and open-source models for cost, latency, quality, reliability, and task-specific performance.
- Create evaluation frameworks with test datasets, scoring rubrics, and regression tests for reliable AI production workflows.
- Optimize AI systems through model selection, batching, caching, and other cost and performance techniques.
- Partner with department leads, conduct stakeholder interviews, gather requirements, prioritize high-leverage work, and iterate based on feedback.
- Design and implement integrations with HR, support ticketing, CRM, applicant tracking, project management, and identity platforms.
- Operate production platforms through dependency management, security updates, observability, error handling, performance monitoring, incident response, and ongoing iteration.
- Document system designs, architectural decisions, and operational procedures, and onboard future team members.
- Present technical work and operational outcomes to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Technology Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical or technology-business hybrid field is required; equivalent foreign degrees are accepted subject to credential evaluation, and exceptional non-traditional backgrounds with a strong shipped portfolio may be considered.
- A demonstrated portfolio of shipped software products, including AI-powered applications, with the ability to explain architecture, design trade-offs, and engineering decisions in detail is required.
- Experience running a business or working at a fast-scaling startup, with exposure to end-to-end business operations, is required.
- Working proficiency in modern software engineering practices, including version control, code review, deployment pipelines, and production debugging, is required.
- Hands-on experience with one or more large language model providers and their APIs, tool-calling interfaces, and structured output mechanisms is required.
- Experience designing prompt and tool-call architectures, selecting models across providers, and optimizing AI systems for cost and latency is required.
- Programming proficiency in Python and TypeScript or JavaScript, familiarity with AI application development frameworks, and experience with relational databases, SQL, and modern data tooling are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, fast-moving environments are required.
- Preferred qualifications include founder, co-founder, early-stage startup, technology investment analysis, operational consulting, high-growth internal-tools, or AI-native product experience.
- Hands-on experience with the Replit platform, including Replit Agent and Replit Deployments, is preferred.
- Experience with React Native and Expo is preferred.
- Multilingual proficiency, particularly in Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, or other major commercial languages, is preferred.
