Responsibilities
- Guide the technical direction and implementation of large-scale product features.
- Evaluate trade-offs involving correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact.
- Ship well-tested, secure, reliable, and maintainable code.
- Debug team inefficiencies and remove blockers to engineering excellence.
- Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and complex bug fixes with security, performance, and reliability in mind.
- Mentor teammates, improve their skills, and provide performance coaching.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering partners to influence product strategy and direction.
- Improve growth engineering practices and identify opportunities related to design principles, patterns, unit testing, performance, security, and privacy.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing and building enterprise-grade solutions using microservices.
- Background in Java, Kotlin, observability tools, and service operations.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS offerings.
- Experience building distributed systems for a SaaS product.
- Experience identifying, raising, and reconciling organizational gaps and redundant efforts.
- Demonstrated success with cross-company collaboration.
- Experience influencing and performance coaching engineers.
