Base Salary
$340k - $378k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the architecture and technical roadmap for cloud-native platform services.
- Lead the design of large-scale, multi-tenant distributed systems delivered as managed cloud services.
- Architect platforms spanning compute, storage, networking, data, microservices, event-driven systems, service mesh, API gateways, and managed cloud services.
- Build self-service deployment capabilities using GitOps and infrastructure as code.
- Drive production ownership, failure-domain design, disaster recovery, fleet-wide upgrades, automation, and reduction of operational toil.
- Design multi-cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud, balancing common abstractions with cloud-specific capabilities.
- Lead adoption of serverless, managed data services, cloud-native storage and networking, FinOps, and scalable platform operations.
- Define cloud security and compliance architecture covering identity, encryption, network isolation, and zero trust.
- Influence engineering strategy and architecture governance while mentoring senior and staff engineers.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems, including 5+ years working with public cloud.
- Deep expertise with containers and orchestration, including Kubernetes.
- Strong experience designing cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS architectures and highly scalable microservices.
- Expertise in cloud storage, networking, compute services, and distributed data platforms.
- Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure; multi-cloud experience is preferred.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, and automation at scale.
- Deep knowledge of observability, monitoring, and site reliability engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Golang, Java, or Python; C++ is a plus.
- Experience building highly performant systems and debugging complex distributed architectures.
- Proven ability to influence engineering strategy at an organizational level, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence.
