Base Salary

$155k - $233k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive architecture for a cloud-native workflow orchestration platform supporting data center operations.
  • Design scalable, resilient, highly available distributed systems and establish platform architecture patterns, technical standards, and engineering practices.
  • Build enterprise-grade services and event-driven architectures using Java, Spring Boot, React, AWS, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
  • Develop workflow capabilities for coordinating operational activities, tracking progress, optimizing resources, and improving real-time visibility.
  • Own technical delivery from discovery and design through implementation, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Apply distributed-systems patterns for consistency, fault tolerance, retries, recovery, and event-driven processing.
  • Improve reliability through observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and reliability engineering practices.
  • Mentor senior engineers, lead design and code reviews, author architecture decision records, and lead architecture review forums.
  • Influence platform roadmaps and align architecture with product, infrastructure, operations, and customer-delivery needs.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and operating enterprise-grade software systems.
  • Significant experience defining architecture for distributed, cloud-native platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and modern frontend frameworks such as React.
  • Experience designing and operating highly available, observable, resilient, and scalable production systems.
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, containerized workloads, or EKS.
  • Experience influencing technical direction across engineering teams, platform domains, or cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and improving engineering practices.
  • Experience with large-scale technical transformation programs, legacy migration, platform modernization, or adoption of architectural standards.
  • Preferred experience with Temporal, Cadence, Airflow, Argo Workflows, AWS Step Functions, or similar workflow technologies.
  • Preferred experience with Kafka or comparable event-streaming platforms and PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.
  • Preferred experience with observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, SRE practices, SLOs, SLIs, and reliability engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
