Responsibilities
- Own Tier 2/3 technical escalations across ad serving, tracking, data pipelines, and ML-driven bidding.
- Perform root cause analysis on campaign delivery failures, pacing anomalies, fill-rate degradation, and CTR, CVR, CPA, or ROAS fluctuations.
- Reproduce and resolve issues across OpenRTB, VAST, SDK, MMP, conversion-tracking, and privacy-measurement integrations.
- Query and analyze large-scale bid, impression, click, and conversion datasets with SQL.
- Analyze supply paths, publisher and app inventory transparency, placement quality, bid duplication, invalid traffic, and Made-for-Advertising signals.
- Build internal tooling, scripts, automated diagnostics, troubleshooting playbooks, and runbooks.
- Validate advertiser, publisher, and partner integrations end to end before launch.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to convert recurring issues into product and platform improvements.
- Define and track operational metrics including mean time to resolution, escalation rate, and issue recurrence rate.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in technical support, solutions engineering, ad operations, or a similar technical client-facing role, including at least 2 years working with ad tech systems.
- Strong understanding of programmatic advertising, including real-time bidding, auctions, budget pacing, frequency capping, attribution, tracking, and viewability.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries, correctly join event-level datasets, and reason about query-related metric distortion.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or general-purpose programming language, such as Python, for automation, log parsing, and internal utilities.
- Experience troubleshooting logs, APIs, distributed systems, REST APIs, HTTP requests and responses, and production issues.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Windsurf.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical root causes and writing incident summaries.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Preferred experience debugging OpenRTB bid requests and responses at the field level.
- Preferred experience with large-scale advertising data and query optimization using BigQuery, Spark, Snowflake, or ClickHouse.
- Preferred familiarity with ads.txt, app-ads.txt, sellers.json, SupplyChain Object, invalid traffic, domain and bundle spoofing, ad stacking, and Made-for-Advertising inventory.
- Preferred experience with AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch, postback debugging, SKAdNetwork, AdAttributionKit, and Privacy Sandbox.
- Preferred familiarity with VAST, Open Measurement SDK, CTV, and in-app environments.
- Preferred experience with Datadog, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, and incident response processes.
- Preferred understanding of first-price auctions, bid shading, floor pricing, and supply path optimization.
- Preferred exposure to A/B testing, holdout design, or incrementality measurement.
- Additional Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean language ability is preferred.
