Responsibilities
- Own and evolve backend APIs, use cases, domain models, serialization, and Kafka-based event-driven pipelines.
- Design and implement architectural scaffolding, application layers, and clean boundaries for new product modules.
- Build and maintain Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Integrate mathematical optimization algorithms into the network planning product in collaboration with Operations Research Engineers.
- Develop AI capabilities by combining LLMs with the optimization engine.
- Use code agents and AI assistants as part of the software development workflow.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Write well-tested, self-documenting code using hexagonal architecture patterns.
- Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge sharing and learning.
Requirements
- Academic background in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience with Python.
- Experience with a modern front-end stack and willingness to handle basic front-end tasks.
- Production experience applying clean architecture, hexagonal architecture, ports-and-adapters, Domain-Driven Design, or similar approaches.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and event-driven systems such as Kafka.
- Strong experience using code agents or AI assistants in daily development.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with unit, integration, and acceptance testing best practices.
- Experience with AWS or a similar cloud platform and Terraform infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with mathematical optimization or data-intensive applications is preferred.
