Base Salary
$181k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set multi-year technical strategy and long-term vision for AI platform development.
- Architect foundational AI systems serving multiple product teams, including LLM orchestration frameworks, MCP infrastructure, and agent patterns.
- Own organization-wide technical decisions involving ambiguous or contested tradeoffs.
- Define engineering-wide quality standards and scalable best practices for AI development.
- Drive alignment between the Agentic SDK team and product teams consuming its capabilities.
- Coach P4 engineers toward staff-level scope and strategic impact.
- Represent CaptivateIQ through industry discussions, open-source contributions, or technical publications.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support and critical issue resolution.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with progression into staff-level technical leadership.
- Production experience building LLM agent frameworks, including agent design patterns, tool integration, and workflow optimization.
- Significant experience designing MCP integrations and large-scale knowledge systems, including tool server architecture, embedding pipelines, and context optimization.
- Experience setting technical strategy across multiple teams and multi-year time horizons.
- Experience partnering with Directors, VPs, and senior leadership to align technical direction with business objectives.
- Ability to make high-stakes technical decisions under extreme ambiguity.
- Strong mentorship experience, especially developing senior engineers toward staff-level impact.
- Curiosity and continuous learning in the AI and LLM space.
- Preferred experience with Python and Django or similar backend frameworks.
- Preferred full-stack capabilities with React and TypeScript.
- Preferred experience building internal AI/ML platforms or developer experience infrastructure.
- Preferred familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent LLM orchestration frameworks.
- Preferred experience with multi-agent coordination, autonomous planning, complex tool ecosystems, AI evaluation, observability, and enterprise-scale production monitoring.
- Preferred published technical writing, conference talks, or significant open-source contributions in AI/ML.
- Preferred experience shipping AI-powered enterprise products and working at a growing B2B SaaS company.
