Responsibilities
- Execute small to medium projects independently and progress toward independently designing and delivering projects.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and robust code to solve business problems.
- Triage, investigate, diagnose, and resolve incidents, including root-cause analysis.
- Identify and eliminate toil through systems engineering and application-code improvements.
- Implement and improve service level indicators, objectives, monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support incident triage, troubleshooting, post-incident analysis, and identification of recurring toil and reliability risks.
- Evaluate AI-assisted operational recommendations, define guardrails, validate outputs, and align outcomes with resiliency, security, and data-sensitivity requirements.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience.
- Proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and site reliability practices.
- Fluency in at least one programming language, such as Java or Python, with experience potentially including Java Spring Boot.
- Experience with observability, white- and black-box monitoring, SLO alerting, telemetry collection, monitoring, logging, and dashboard technologies.
- Experience with tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, AppDynamics, Jenkins, GitLab, and Terraform.
- Understanding of SDLC, secure development, DevOps and CI/CD tooling, continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and auto-remediation.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve SRE workflows, with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Experience with containers and container orchestration, such as ECS, Kubernetes, or Docker.
- Experience troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues.
- Preferred qualifications include tools or agentic AI experience for SRE use cases, CI/CD or AI certifications, Splunk Administrator certification, and a willingness to self-educate and evaluate new technology.
