
FIX Onboarding Engineer (On-Site - Dallas)

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end onboarding of electronic trading applications from initial request through production go-live.
- Coordinate project deliverables and dependencies across business, operations, network, algorithmic trading, workflow, and other platform development teams.
- Test and certify client connections using the FIX protocol and firm-specific requirements.
- Implement customized client requests and improve the flexibility of electronic trading offerings.
- Coordinate network connectivity configurations involving TCP/IP, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Provide FIX protocol subject matter expertise and act as a technical liaison for business and application teams.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during onboarding and provide ongoing client support.
- Create and maintain documentation for onboarding projects and processes.
- Improve onboarding processes, applications, and tooling.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or a related technical field.
- 2–4 years of professional experience, with Analyst or Associate level determined by experience and capabilities.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and the complete electronic order lifecycle, including order types, execution venues, clearing, and settlement.
- Experience with scripting or programming such as Python, Java, C++, or SQL.
- Comfort working in a UNIX/Linux environment and familiarity with common commands and tools.
- Understanding of connectivity, networks, TCP/IP, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Preferred experience with the FIX protocol and FIX certification processes.
- Preferred finance background covering multiple asset classes such as equities, futures, options, and FX.
- Preferred experience in technical project management, technical initiative leadership, or a client-facing technical role in financial services.
