Responsibilities
- Design and build production-grade backend services using service architecture, API design, asynchronous Python, testing, packaging, debugging, and production operations.
- Take well-scoped services and features through design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and ongoing reliability improvements.
- Engineer for scale, resilience, maintainability, observability, performance, and pragmatic architectural trade-offs.
- Integrate LLM APIs and apply agentic AI frameworks or interoperability protocols to support reliable AI-enabled workflows.
- Contribute to CI/CD configuration, deployment stages, pipeline hardening, environment debugging, rollback strategies, and production readiness.
- Build cloud-native systems using containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation.
- Apply secure-by-default practices, including dependency health, vulnerability triage, token hygiene, secrets handling, security patching, and OWASP-aligned practices.
- Manage artifacts and dependencies through registry, proxying, mirroring, and provenance workflows.
- Collaborate with platform, ML, application, data, and product engineers to deliver scalable backend solutions.
- Own meaningful features or service components, contribute to technical design, improve code quality, support peers, and balance speed, quality, security, and reliability.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience building backend services, production systems, or platform infrastructure.
- Experience designing, developing, deploying, debugging, and operating backend services in production.
- Strong Python backend experience, including asynchronous programming, testing, packaging, API design, and maintainable service architecture.
- Experience with Python tools such as uv, ruff, and ty.
- Experience with production operations, observability, reliability, distributed-systems debugging, and deployment troubleshooting.
- Experience with secure service design, secrets handling, token hygiene, dependency scanning, CVE triage, OWASP-aligned practices, and security patching.
- Experience integrating backend services with LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Azure OpenAI.
