Base Salary
$140k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and related frameworks.
- Architect and implement microservices handling high-volume traffic and complex business logic.
- Use AI-powered development tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and solve technical challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship features.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers on modern development practices and AI assistance tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in distributed systems.
- Contribute to technical architecture and system design decisions.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for backend services.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, AI-assisted development practices, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of backend software development experience using Node.js and Angular.
- 3+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- 2+ years of experience leading projects and providing technical leadership.
- Strong expertise in Node.js frameworks and technologies.
- Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Preferred: backend development experience with Java.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
- Preferred: experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred: knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Preferred: familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Preferred: experience with performance optimization and scalability.
- Preferred: strong understanding of software design patterns and clean code principles.
