Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, maintain, and support critical mainframe financial-services applications.
- Write and optimize batch jobs, stored procedures, and online transactions.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, debugging, production troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Support application deployments, release activities, change management, and on-call critical-system support.
- Monitor system performance and recommend optimizations, including code optimization and technical debt reduction.
- Collaborate with business analysts, infrastructure teams, and QA on requirements, environments, capacity, test data, and defect resolution.
- Create technical documentation and contribute to coding standards, best practices, audit requests, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in mainframe DevOps initiatives, modernization efforts including API enablement, and automated testing.
- Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge.
Requirements
- 10+ years of mainframe development experience.
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
- Experience with VSAM and MQ Series.
- Understanding of batch processing and online transaction systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Financial services industry experience.
- Familiarity with Endevor, Git, or other source control tools.
- Exposure to mainframe DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of REXX and Assembler.
