Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and scale a unified data platform integrating internal and external sources into data lakes and warehouses
- Design and implement streaming and batch data pipelines using Spark, Airflow, and DBT
- Lead infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and Kubernetes
- Evaluate and drive migration toward the organization’s North Star data architecture
- Define logging standards, data contracts, and data consumption patterns with cross-functional teams
- Drive data governance, privacy compliance, and metadata management practices
- Build APIs and data services supporting real-time activation and client-facing data sharing
- Participate in strategic architecture decisions and long-term data roadmap planning
- Promote modern data platform and engineering practices across the organization
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to hiring and team growth
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience focused on data systems and platform architecture
- 10+ years building data lakehouse solutions and self-serve data platforms
- 10+ years of hands-on programming experience with Scala, Go, Python, and SQL
- 5+ years building scalable data solutions with Python, Spark, and Terraform
- Experience building serverless, scalable ML infrastructure for large-scale data processing, ideally in telecom or similarly high-throughput environments
- Deep expertise in cloud-native data stacks including AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, and Synapse
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven systems, Kafka, and Kubernetes
- Experience building operational tools and improving operational efficiency and developer experience, including evaluating AI-based engineering productivity tools
- Experience with Airflow or Prefect and DBT
- Proficiency building and scaling REST or gRPC APIs for data access and activation
- Experience building distributed Kafka publish/subscribe ingestion pipelines with queue workers on AWS ECS
- Experience automating monitoring, disaster recovery, and CI/CD with Filebeat and CloudWatch serverless monitoring
- Hands-on experience with Tableau, Power BI, and Cibe.dev
- Strong understanding of data governance, compliance frameworks, privacy, and secure data sharing
- Experience applying AI/ML and LLMs to data products and predictive analytics
- Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React is a plus
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
