Responsibilities
- Design and evolve scalable, high-performance software architectures.
- Own the technical delivery of large, complex initiatives end to end.
- Maintain deep understanding of system architecture across multiple codebases and act as a technical authority.
- Write high-quality, performant Haskell.
- Apply appropriate testing strategies while balancing reliability, pragmatism, and delivery pace.
- Remove blockers, focus teams on outcomes, and reduce wasted effort.
- Communicate complex technical and organizational topics clearly across teams and stakeholders.
- Mentor and support engineers and improve team capability, wellbeing, and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Experienced engineer with expertise designing scalable, evolutionary architectures and solving complex problems.
- Demonstrated ability to own and deliver large, ambiguous initiatives end to end.
- Deep technical understanding across systems and ability to raise others’ technical capability.
- Hands-on experience writing performant Haskell and making sound tooling and library choices.
- Pragmatic approach that balances high standards with delivery impact.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, mentoring, and feedback skills.
- Ability to consider product context, process, and organizational health in technical decisions.
- Collaborative approach with emphasis on product quality.
- Experience in insurtech, insurance, or related industries is especially valued.
- Experience working in a distributed environment is especially valued.
