Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end solution architectures aligned with target architecture, enterprise patterns, and Application Security Standards.
- Partner with engineering teams and product managers throughout the delivery lifecycle through design reviews, architectural guidance, and decision support.
- Define, document, and evolve strategic platforms, architectural patterns, and reference architectures.
- Apply architecture governance and support pattern reuse, build-versus-buy decisions, and technology selection.
- Design AI and GenAI architectures involving RAG, LLM gateways, model evaluation, vector and embedding stores, prompt and context management, observability, and cost/token governance.
- Architect agentic and multi-agent workflows involving tool/function calling, MCP integrations, orchestration, guardrails, human-in-the-loop controls, evaluation harnesses, and tracing.
- Define adoption and governance practices for AI coding assistants and agentic developer tooling within the SDLC.
- Improve product and platform reliability, performance, scalability, and security.
- Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and architecture decision records.
- Build proofs of concept and reference implementations to validate architectural approaches.
- Mentor engineers and peers on architecture, modern engineering practices, and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate and select software products, platforms, and AI tooling.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry-relevant experience, including 4+ years as a solution, technical, or enterprise architect in a complex product or SaaS organization.
- Experience defining, designing, and implementing complex integrations and distributed systems, including microservice and event-driven architectures with an API-first mindset.
- Ability to apply architecture standards and patterns pragmatically while balancing strategic intent with delivery needs.
- Hands-on experience designing solutions on Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure, with relevant middleware, messaging, data, and infrastructure technologies.
- Familiarity with Python, Angular, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud.
- Production or near-production experience architecting AI/GenAI solutions, including RAG, LLM integration, evaluation, cost, latency, observability, and safety concerns.
- Working knowledge of agentic AI patterns and frameworks, including agent orchestration, tool use, and MCP.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI coding assistants and their adoption, impact measurement, quality, security, and licensing considerations.
- Awareness of responsible AI and data governance, including PII handling, prompt and data leakage risks, and model evaluation.
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate with technical and business audiences.
- Cloud architecture certification such as Google Professional Cloud Architect or AWS Certified Solutions Architect is preferred.
- Experience contributing to architecture in a fast-moving product team and in supply chain, quality, compliance, or another regulated B2B domain is preferred.
- Experience with MLOps and ML model lifecycle management is preferred.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, BigQuery, and Looker is preferred.
- Open-source contributions, technical writing, or community involvement are preferred.
