Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support scalable Java microservices and user interfaces for Disney’s Ad Platform.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to deliver user-centric advertising features.
- Translate user stories into engineering tasks and own work from development through deployment.
- Mentor teammates through code reviews, documentation, and informal guidance without direct reports.
- Implement metrics, monitoring, and alerting to improve system observability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and promote operational excellence.
- Champion code quality, automated testing, and agile engineering workflows.
- Use automated AI tools in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
- 4–8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with Java and related frameworks including Spring Boot and ORMs.
- Experience with ReactJS or modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or Angular.
- Strong experience with relational databases including MySQL and Postgres, including schema and query design.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong computer science foundation in data structures and algorithms.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes ad tech, programmatic advertising, real-time bidding platforms, AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, and SNS/SQS.
