Responsibilities
- Design test strategies and validation plans for distributed-system networking and security features.
- Build scalable automated test suites for Hadoop components, including multi-tenant behavior, concurrency, data consistency, and system-level performance.
- Develop reusable automation templates, test harnesses, and utilities using container-based environments and CI tooling.
- Execute performance, stress, reliability, and long-running workload tests covering I/O throughput, latency, NVMe access patterns, and concurrency limits.
- Use profilers, fuzzers, failure-injection frameworks, and trace analyzers to identify distributed-system issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Analyze CPU, memory, disk, and network utilization and lead root cause analysis for complex issues.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, release engineering, DevOps, and customer engineering on testability, observability, resilience, and quality-first design.
- Produce test plans, automation guides, design-review feedback, quality metrics, QA standards, best practices, and onboarding materials.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software quality engineering experience focused on distributed systems, system-level testing, or infrastructure platforms.
- Hands-on test automation expertise using Python, Bash, and modern CI/CD tooling including Git and Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of distributed concurrency, file systems, I/O stack behavior, storage performance analysis, NVMe, SPDK, networking, tracing, and system observability.
- Experience with large-scale performance testing, stress testing, and reliability validation.
- Ability to diagnose complex system issues using logs, traces, network captures, and profiling tools.
- Experience with Hadoop products is preferred.
- Experience validating large-scale data platforms, storage engines, or distributed scheduling systems is preferred.
- Experience using AI technologies for quality engineering activities such as issue triage, test generation, or automation is preferred.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Prometheus is preferred.
- Background in compliance or security testing, including access control, backup and restore workflows, Section 508, HIPAA, or PCI, is preferred.
- Contributions to open-source test frameworks or distributed-systems validation tools are preferred.
